VOLUINTARY RECALL: The Allergen Free Bakers

November 11, 2019

The Allergen Free Bakers have issued a voluntary Class III product recall on a specific lot code of “The Piping Gourmet Whoopie Pies.”  This recall has been initiated due to a piece of rubber being found in an individual whoopie pie.  While there has been no reported health or safety issues, they are recalling the affected lots out of an abundance of caution. 

 

The Lot Code of affected items is AF19128 which can be found on the Best Buy sticker.

Voluntary Recall: King Arthur Flour

October 04, 2019

In association with ADM Milling Company, King Arthur Flour, Inc., announced today a voluntary national recall of specific lots of its Unbleached All-Purpose Flour (5 lb. & 25 lb.)

We are taking this voluntary precautionary step because of the potential presence of E. coli 026 which was discovered through sampling. King Arthur Flour has not received any confirmed reports of illnesses related to this product.

This flour was milled at an ADM Milling facility in Buffalo, NY, and was distributed by King Arthur Flour through retailers and distributors nationwide, and sold through our website, catalogue, and store in Norwich, VT.

The only product affected by this voluntary recall is our Unbleached All-Purpose Flour (5 lb. & 25 lb.) from the Best Used by Dates and Lot Codes listed below.

Trickling Springs Bottle Deposit Program

September 27, 2019

Trickling Springs has ceased operations and we will no longer be able to supply their products. Please return all Trickling Springs empty glass milk bottles for refund of deposits by Oct. 31st. As of Nov. 1st, we will no longer be able to accept bottles for refund.

Voluntary Recall: Bubbies Homemade Ice Cream and Desserts, Inc.

August 26, 2019

Bubbies Homemade Ice Cream and Desserts, Inc. is issuing a voluntary product recall for our retail Mochi Ice Cream and Cookie Dough Ice Cream Bites six-piece products, effective immediately.

This recall has been initiated because "free-floating" foreign plastic pieces have been discovered in a small number of the resealable trays and traced back to a non-conformance at our packaging supplier's facility. Although we do not believe there is a reasonable probability that the use of these products will cause serious adverse health consequences, in an abundance of caution, to account for the possibility that any plastic might adhere to the product, we are taking a proactive position to voluntarily recall these products in the interests of consumer safety. This voluntary recall is being made with the knowledge of the federal Food and Drug Administration.

Affected Product: All Bubbies 7.5oz Machi Ice Cream and 8.0oz Cookie Dough Ice Cream Bite retail
packaging (six-piece products) produced from MFG Code Date (ie Lot Code) 01/08/2019- 07/28/2019
(Best By 01/08/2020 - 07/28/2020) are affected by this recall.

Voluntary Recall: Amys Kitchen Broccoli Cheddar Bake Bowls

August 08, 2019

Amy’s Kitchen has issued a limited voluntary recall (Class II) of a Single Lot of their Broccoli Cheddar Bake Bowls (60-D129) due to the potential presence of foreign material (visible black plastic).  No other Amy’s Kitchen products or lots are impacted.  There have been no reports of injury or illness associated with this issue.

 

We currently have, NO product on hand with Lot Code 60-D129.

Voluntary Recall: ProBar Meal Bars

July 12, 2019

PROBAR LLC of Salt Lake City, UT has initiated a voluntary recall of select flavors and lots of Meal® bars, including Chocolate Coconut, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, Original Trail Mix, Wholeberry Blast and Superfood Slam due to the possible presence of undeclared milk and soy allergens. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk or soy may run the risk of a serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consume the affected products. No other PROBAR® products are affected.

This voluntary recall involves select Meal® bar flavors in 3oz. packages distributed nationwide and Canada to retail stores and online. The following lots of PROBAR® Meal bars are included in the recall:

Voluntary Recall: Woodstock Frozen ORG Grilled Red Peppers - 10oz

June 21, 2019

UNFI Recalls its Woodstock Frozen Organic Grilled Red Peppers because of possible Health Risk.

 

Out of an abundance of caution, UNFI is voluntarily recalling its 10 oz packages of Woodstock frozen ORG Grilled Red Peppers because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

 

The potential for contamination was noted after routine testing by the Rhode Island Department of Health revealed the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in the lot # identified below.  The production of the product has been suspended while RIDOH and UNFI continue to investigate.

 

UPC#4256301714, Lot #60B, expiration date of April 2020, we had 5 units on hand, which were dumped and destroyed per instructions.

Voluntary Recall: King Arthur Flour

June 13, 2019

"In cooperation with ADM Milling Company, King Arthur Flour, Inc. of Norwich, VT is voluntarily recalling 14,218 cases of 5 lb. Unbleached All-Purpose Flour due to the potential presence of Escherichia coli bacteria (E. coli). 

 

King Arthur has been informed by ADM Milling Co. that certain wheat used to make these lots of King Arthur flour has been linked to an ongoing outbreak of E. coli infections. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with King Arthur flour.

 

Consumers who have any of these affected products should not consume them and should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for credit or refund."

 

Ever'man had one unit on hand. Best Used Date of 12/14/19, Lot L18A14A.  Unit was pulled and destroyed per handling instructions.

Voluntary Product Recall: Jarrow Formulas, Inc. Vinpocetine and BrainBoost Dietary Sup[plement Products

June 05, 2019

From Jarrow Formulas, Inc.:

"Please be advised that for two dietary supplements manufactured by Jarrow Formulas, Inc. -- Vinpocetine and BrainBoost, we are issuing a voluntary recall despite the absense of a single adverse event report in the US or any FDA-mandated directive. We have based this totally precautionary decision on a National Institute of Health (NIH) study that concludes that exposure to vinpocetine during gestation in rats and rabbits resulted in developmental problems. The dose administered to the animals was significantly higher than the suggested use indicated on the labels of Jarrow Formulas' products, but nonetheless, exercising appropriate caution, we are moving forward with this voluntary recall."

Voluntary Product Recall: Barlean's Softgels due to undeclared sulfites

May 06, 2019

From Barlean's Organic Oils: "Barlean's has used a caramel coloring ingredient in its softgels that we discovered contains sulfites. Sulfites are not an allergen but may present sensitivity issues for a relatively small subset of customers."

"There have been no reported illnesses, nor consumer complaints, to date."
